2026 Honda Passport TrailSport: Inside the Most Advanced Honda SUV Ever

The 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport introduces a comprehensive interior redesign that transforms the driving experience through advanced technology and refined comfort. This new generation emphasizes intuitive connectivity, premium materials, and thoughtful design that elevates every journey.

Connected Technology for Modern Life

The centrepiece of the Passport's technology suite is a new 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen featuring Google built-in capability. This system provides seamless access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and additional apps through Google Play. The interface includes a smart design element with a finger-rest lip at the bottom of the screen for improved usability while driving.

The driver faces a crisp 10.2-inch digital instrument panel that offers customizable displays and vehicle information. This advanced system includes specialized readouts for vehicle dynamics and can be configured to show navigation, entertainment, and vehicle status information.

Connectivity reaches new heights with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, plus a 4G-LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The charging infrastructure includes a Qi-compatible 15W wireless charger and strategically placed USB-C ports capable of laptop-charging speeds, ensuring all devices stay powered during long trips.

Spacious Comfort Meets Premium Design

The cabin introduces new Body Stabilizing front seats, engineered to reduce fatigue during extended drives. Rear passengers enjoy an additional 33mm of legroom, while the TrailSport Touring adds ventilated front seats, rear climate controls, and door shades for enhanced comfort.

Storage solutions showcase Honda's human-centered design approach. The cabin features a new two-tier door bin system, a multi-use tray that accommodates two smartphones side-by-side, and a console bin large enough for a full-size tablet. Ten strategically placed cupholders, including six sized for 32-ounce water bottles, ensure convenience for all occupants.

Cargo capacity sets new standards with 2,356 litres of space behind the first row, an increase of 156 litres over the previous generation. The redesigned cargo area now accommodates full-size golf bags laid sideways or two adult mountain bikes with front wheels removed. A clever underfloor storage compartment adds versatile space for valuable items.

Premium Comfort Features

The Bose premium audio system, standard on TrailSport Touring, delivers an immersive listening experience through 12 optimally placed speakers. The system features Bose Centerpoint technology and SurroundStage digital signal processing, creating a consistent sound stage for all seating positions.

Acoustic improvements include new sound-absorbing materials throughout the cabin, including spray foam insulation, enhanced fender liners, and thicker carpeting. These refinements significantly reduce road and wind noise, creating a serene environment for conversations and entertainment.

The panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, while ambient lighting creates a sophisticated atmosphere during evening drives. Climate comfort extends to all seasons with a heated windshield, heated steering wheel, and advanced climate control system with rear passenger controls in the Touring trim.

Intelligent Integration

The new interface design simplifies interaction with vehicle systems through intuitive controls and clear display hierarchies. The lag-free system response ensures quick access to features, while the customizable display themes allow personalization of the driving environment.

Both TrailSport trims feature synthetic leather upholstery, chosen for its premium feel and durability. The TrailSport Touring adds distinctive orange contrast stitching and embroidered headrests that complement the upscale interior design.

The 2026 Passport TrailSport arrives at Canadian dealerships early next year, bringing these significant technology and comfort upgrades to the midsize SUV segment. With its combination of advanced features, refined comfort, and practical design, the new Passport creates an environment that enhances every aspect of the driving experience.
