Honda Passport 2024 Improvements
October 23 2023, Lallier Honda Repentigny
The 2024 Honda Passport is a gifted and adventurous mid-size SUV. This 5-door, 5-seater is no slouch, and excels wherever it goes. Let's take a look at its technical specifications and what's new for this year.
Trim Levels and Starting Prices
The Japanese manufacturer likes to offer SUV enthusiasts a choice. The Honda Passport for sale is no exception, and comes in three distinctive trim levels, plus a Limited Edition called Passport Black Edition for 2024.

Each of these trim levels brings a number of innovative features that will appeal to those who want to enjoy a spacious SUV.
An Efficient Powertrain
Under the hood of all Passport trim levels is a 3.5L DOHC V6 engine producing 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can go from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.
With its large size, the 2024 Passport offers a combined fuel consumption in the upper mid-range of other SUVs in its segment, i.e. 11.3 L/100 km.
An Improved Passport TrailSport for 2024
For this model year, Honda is improving its TrailSport version, making it more robust and offering greater off-road capability than ever before.
As a matter of fact, the Japanese manufacturer is now offering a new off-road suspension, which includes:
- Springs with modified stiffness
- Improved damping valve adjustment
- Optimized stabilizer bars
These significant adjustments give the Honda Passport Canada enhanced handling, setting it apart from other SUVs in its class. When we compare the Honda Passport vs Pilot, we must admit that the Japanese manufacturer is constantly innovating to make its vehicles more suitable for off-road driving.
We mentioned earlier that the TrailSport midsize SUV was more robust. This year, that ruggedness is reflected in the addition of high-performance off-road tires that last a long time on the trails.
As noted:
"The standard General Grabber MC T/T Sport tires (245/60R18) significantly improve the TrailSport's traction on dirt, sand, mud, rocky terrain and snow, while remaining quiet on the road."
With its 205.4 mm ground clearance, you'll have no trouble tackling difficult trails.
For 2024, the mid-size SUV comes in a new body color, diffused sky blue, and the Honda Passport interior is enhanced with the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat headrests.
All in all, this version of the Honda Passport is much more adventurous, and you'll love driving it both on and off the road. This trim level excels with its driving modes and much more beyond.
A New Version for 2024: The Black Edition!
While the name immediately refers to the black exterior and interior, the Black Edition of the Honda Passport will also be available in Sonic Gray, Platinum White and Radiant Red.
For this limited edition,
"Each Passport Black Edition includes 20-inch alloy wheels painted black, blackout treatments for the grille, headlight trim, side trim, door handles, window trim and foglight accents."
Inside, you'll find ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and perforated leather seats. The Black Edition logo is embossed on the front seats and floor mats.
All in all, this edition boasts a sportier look while retaining the SUV's essential features, including the Honda Passport towing capacity of 5,000 lb and its cargo volume, which ranges from 1,430 L to 2,854 L. Not only is it high-performance, it's also extremely spacious.
As Benoît Charette in L'Annuel de l'automobile 2024 points out,
"The ride is comfortable, you get plenty of cargo space and decent fuel economy. The V6 engine offers fairly brisk acceleration and above-average roadholding".
