The Honda 0 Series Prototype is Presented in Quebec

The Honda 0 Series SUV prototype is making a stop in Quebec as part of a Canadian tour. First presented at the CES show in Las Vegas last January, this concept vehicle provides a concrete glimpse of the next generation of electric vehicles developed by Honda. This visit marks an important milestone for electric vehicle enthusiasts in Quebec, who now have the opportunity to get a closer look at what the Japanese manufacturer has in store for the coming years.

A 100% Honda Project

Unlike some previous models developed in partnership with General Motors, the Honda 0 Series represents an initiative entirely led by Honda. It represents a significant turning point in the manufacturer's electrification strategy. The development of this vehicle is based on a new platform, designed with an approach focused on efficiency, lightness, and innovation.

Promising Features

While several technical details remain to be confirmed, Honda has shared some key information. The SUV aims for a range of around 480 kilometers, thanks to a battery designed in collaboration with LG. It will be compatible with the NACS charging port, now standard for many electric vehicles in North America. The prototype also offers a glimpse of upcoming onboard technologies, including the SE ASIMO operating system, developed in-house, which could enable partial driving automation.

A style somewhere between concept and production

The design of the Honda 0 Series is intended to be both innovative and realistic. Although the prototype has a futuristic look, it is said to be 90% representative of the expected production model. However, some modifications are planned to meet safety standards, including the replacement of side cameras with conventional rearview mirrors. The vehicle presented features pearl white paint, 21-inch wheels, and a two-tone design with a contrasting black roof, elements that could be found on the final version.

Designed for North America

Honda plans to launch this new electric SUV in North America as early as 2026. It will be assembled at the company's new facility in Ohio. This model will join Honda's current EV offering, alongside the Prologue. While its exact price has not yet been announced, we already know that it will be no less expensive than the latter.

In Brief

The presentation of the Honda 0 Series prototype in Quebec marks a symbolic step in Honda's electric shift. This vehicle, both promising for the future and close to reality, demonstrates the manufacturer's ambition to position itself among the leaders in electrification. Quebec drivers can now glimpse what Honda is preparing for the roads of tomorrow – a modern, autonomous SUV adapted to the needs of the North American market. Its final name remains to be revealed, and will be revealed in the coming months.
